There are no pre-set requirements or specific products or services that you must agree to buy. Engine Service
Our engine repair facilities are designed specifically for engines and related component repairs. Factory trained technicians specialize in repair of specific components to provide fast, dependable rebuilds.

During the engine rebuild process, the assemblies are stripped and disassembled. Engines and large components are cleaned in a separate steam cleaning room and an agitating chemical tark is used for assemblies and small components.

Our component repair facilities allow precision rebuilding of engine components. Individual component repair stations are equipped with all the special tooling and specification data needed. Fuel injection systems and governors are checked and adjusted on special fuel injection test stands to provide accurate, adjustment-free performance.

Specially designed facilities house 2000 hp engine dynamometers used to assure complete break-in and guaranteed rated horsepower.

Shop Service
HOLT offers shop service capability for your machines at 13 store locations – Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Laredo, Longview, North Dallas, San Antonio, Texarkana Tyler, Victoria, Waco and Weslaco. Each location provides quality repairs with guaranteed workmanship. Large bays with overhead hoists and special tooling allow us to handle repair jobs quickly and efficiently.

HOLT offers customers fixed-rate repair options on labor and parts for all major components including engines, transmissions, final drives, undercarriage, brakes, steering clutches, hydraulic systems and cooling system-.

SOS (Scheduled Oil Sampling)
Scheduled Oil Sampling (S.O.S.) alerts you to trouble so you can prevent costly equipment breakdowns and repair before failure. S.O.S. measures wear in specific components by determining the amount of wear particles in the oil from that component. An Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer accurately and consistently identifies the parts per million of wear elements in the oil being sampled. Elements that can be detected include iron, aluminum, silicon, copper and chromium. Other tests detect fuel dilution, water and anti-freeze, and measure viscosity.

Sample data is recorded for each machine and each compartment sampled. Tests are completed and results available within 24 hours so that needed repairs can be scheduled before costly failures occur. Each report shows current sample data as well as previous data.

Undercarriage Service
Our undercarriage repair facilities are capable of completely rebuilding links, rollers, and idler, as well as straightening, realigning and rebuilding track roller frames. 330-ton twin ram track presses enable us to provide professional pin and bushing turns for large tractor undercarriage. We also offer a complete inventory of exchange track rollers and idlers to help reduce costs.

Technical Analysis
HOLT Technical Analysis Inspections are complete and thorough, yet they can be performed quickly and easily in the shop or field. Each major system on the machine is checked for critical indicators. Individual wear components are also checked and findings recorded. Oil samples are taken from all compartments and analyzed. Each system that has a critical indicator of malfunction is inspected in-depth. All of the information is compiled into a written report, which can be used to prioritize repairs.

Field Service
We have over 300 field service vehicles equipped to meet your needs at your jobsite. HOLT’s field service technicians are highly qualified and specially trained on all aspects of Caterpillar machines. Our field service is available on a 24-hour basis for emergencies. All field service technicians keep in constant communication and are equipped with laptop computers capable of performing extensive field diagnostic tests. HOLT’s field service vehicles are heavy duty one and two-ton trucks specially outfitted with equipment such as cranes, cutting torches, welders, generators and air compressors, plus a variety of specialized Caterpillar tools for fast and accurate repairs.
