The culture and values at HOLT CAT have been a guiding force throughout Nick's career.

For Nick Davis, his career at HOLT has been a testament to the power of mentorship, teamwork, and personal growth. Reflecting on his time with the company, Davis encourages new employees to embrace curiosity. "There are a lot of roles and projects under the HOLT umbrella. What you like today may only be the start of what you’ll love tomorrow," he explained. Davis also emphasized the importance of recognizing one’s value. “You were hired for a reason. You are value-add. Don’t be afraid to share your knowledge.”

For Nick, the culture and values at HOLT CAT have been a guiding force throughout his career. He explained that aligning his actions and decisions with the company’s values gives him the confidence to succeed. “When my actions and processes are in alignment with our values, it gives me confidence to know I am supported in my decisions,” he said. Davis credits the company’s investment in its employees as key to his development. From leadership training to technical resources and even support in earning his business degree, HOLT CAT has consistently provided him with the tools to grow personally and professionally.

The relationships he has built at HOLT CAT stand out as one of the most rewarding parts of his journey. "The people and the lasting relationships have been my favorite part about working here. There are people at HOLT that I’ve known since my first day," he said. HOLT’s unique “here to stay” philosophy fosters a strong sense of community that is rare in the industry. Davis added, "You aren’t just a number here. No one hides in their office or behind a title. If Peter and Corinna don’t know your name, well, it’s because you gave them the wrong name," he joked.

Davis still vividly remembers his first day on our team, stepping into the company with no prior experience in the industry. “I was just a kid, wandering around,” he recalled. “Craig Figures and Billy McGaha in the Packaging Shop said, ‘Bring him over here; we’ll teach him.’ That’s been my experience with most people in this company—how do we get better together, and how can I help you?” This culture of mentorship and collaboration has been a driving force behind his success.

“Without missing a beat, my manager said, ‘Let’s make a game plan, let’s go get your degree, let me show you this, have you started that?’” Davis shared. “If you don’t know it, there’s someone here who does, and I bet they’ll show you how.” 

 Nick’s journey with us is a shining example of the company’s commitment to fostering ambition, collaboration, and growth.
