Castin believes that success in construction requires a strong and positive mindset, as well as a willingness to take on challenges.
For Castin Scheible, a career in construction wasn’t something she initially planned, but finding a company like HOLT CAT was exactly what she was looking for. Since joining the company in 2023, she has found a workplace that aligns with her values, allowing her to thrive and grow. Now, as the Power Systems Division Field Supervisor, she plays a critical role in guiding her team and ensuring safe, informed decision-making.
“I couldn’t say I chose a career path in construction, but I chose a career with HOLT,” Scheible said. “Finding a company that models the same core values as I do was truly a gift from God.”
One of the aspects of the industry that she has come to appreciate most is the collaborative nature of the work. “I love that I get to influence my team and help them make informed and safe decisions,” she said. “This industry is all about working together—different trades and departments come together to achieve a common goal, and that teamwork is what makes it all work.”
Scheible credits much of her success to the support of her team and mentors who have helped her grow in her role. She points to leaders such as Cassy Marsalis, Justin Voelkel, Jason Scheible, and Kyle Gwinnup as major influences in shaping her career. “They have such vast knowledge and experience in the industry, and they’ve helped me navigate challenges and refine my decision-making,” she said. “Beyond that, their values and actions align with both the HOLT CAT mission and my own, and that has been incredibly important to me.”
Despite the progress women have made in construction, misconceptions still persist. “By building relationships with customers and team members, I’ve been able to change their views and show them that I not only belong here, but I have the knowledge and experience to be a leader.” She believes that success in construction requires a strong and positive mindset, as well as a willingness to take on challenges.
As Women in Construction Week celebrates the achievements of women in the industry, Scheible hopes to use her leadership to inspire others. “I want to show the next generation that women can be leaders in this field,” she said. “If I can help pave the way for more women to step into leadership roles and build successful careers, then I know I’m doing something right.”
