What began as a chance encounter in a small craft store has grown into a 35-year legacy of family, integrity, and dedication at HOLT CAT—now carried forward by two generations of the McKittrick family.

What started with a chance meeting in a small craft store in Victoria has grown into a 35-year legacy—and now a multigenerational story at HOLT CAT.

Mike McKittrick, Service Manager in Victoria, met his wife Kimberly during a visit from his hometown of Refugio. “I noticed a young lady working in a little craft store and the rest was history,” he said. Not long after, he was invited to dinner at her grandparents’ home. Her grandfather had worked for HOLT CAT when the Victoria store originally opened and asked Mike if he was looking for a job.

At the time, Mike was attending Del Mar Tech in Corpus Christi. “It’s crazy how things work out. He made a call for me, and that was the beginning of my long career,” Mike said. Thirty-five years later, Mike has built a career rooted in hard work, integrity, and consistency—values he credits to his grandfather and strives to pass on every day, both at home and at work.

Today, Mike’s son, Michael McKittrick II, is following in his footsteps. He’s now a Field Service Technician at HOLT CAT’s Corpus Christi location and recently celebrated his seventh anniversary with the company. “It’s cool to see Michael at this age, starting his career,” Mike said. “I see a lot of me in him, and I’m excited to see how his career progresses.”

When the Victoria shop needs extra hands, Michael travels down to help his dad and the team—a rare but meaningful opportunity for father and son to work side by side.

The McKittrick family stays busy outside of work, too. Mike and Kimberly have four children: Megan, Michael II, Matthew, and Mason. They recently became grandparents to Maverick, their seven-month-old grandson, and are looking forward to welcoming a granddaughter this fall. When they’re not spending time with family, Mike and Kimberly are active in their church community and serve together at Grace retreats.

When asked how his kids would describe him, Mike smiled and said, “Unexpressive—a man of few words.” But his steady leadership and strong example speak volumes. “My grandfather instilled in me a strong work ethic and the importance of being honest. I’ve shared that with my children. It’s how we conduct business at HOLT. It’s our brand.”

Now, with two generations contributing to that legacy, the McKittrick name continues to represent what HOLT CAT is all about—family, integrity, and a passion for doing things the right way.

Thank you, Mike, for your hard work and dedication. Happy Father’s Day!
