July 24, 2015 - With the help of more than $2.5 million worth of HOLT CAT® backhoes, skid steer loaders, and motor graders, the City of McAllen recently hosted a week of low-cost heavy equipment operator and transport training with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

The program expanded from 6 machines last year to 26 this year.

“When I knew we needed that many machines, there was only one company to call—HOLT CAT,” said Robert Canterbury, Capital Projects Engineer with the City of McAllen.  “HOLT came through.  They have the quality, and I knew they had the capability,” he added.  “We got rave reviews on the equipment from the students, too. ”

Over 425 people participated the TEEX Infrastructure and Safety Summit, which offered high quality training and technical assistance to private and public sector professionals in infrastructure, safety, health and environmental fields.

HOLT CAT assisted with training for construction, government and other operators from all over South Texas on Cat equipment.

The Summit gave us the opportunity to showcase our products.  We were the only equipment out there, so everyone learned on a Cat machine, ” said Gerry Dreyer, Regional Sales Manager in Edinburg.
