HOLT is committed to values-based leadership, derived from the belief that the whole community benefits in a very real way from association with a company committed to managing by such a values process. In keeping with that dedication, Peter J. Holt, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, along with Joe Straus, former Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, formed Early Matters San Antonio, an advocacy group for early childhood education. Early Matters San Antonio brings together business, civic, education, philanthropic and nonprofit leaders to raise awareness about the link between investments in high quality early education and a strong economic future for San Antonio.
On March 6, HOLT CAT hosted a press conference to launch the campaign to renew Pre-K 4 SA, supporting early childhood education and workforce development. Guest speakers included San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, representatives from the San Antonio and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and Pre K 4 SA advocates. The event also featured powerful testimonials of inner-city parents standing beside their young children who had graduated from the program.
