HOLT Companies recently held a company-wide regional food drive to support those who face hunger and food insecurity within our Texas community. HOLT engaged employees, partners, customers and vendors to join the fight against hunger and raised over $27,000 to provide approximately 279,000 meals to fellow Texans.

Feeding Texas is a network of hunger-relief organizations with 21-member food banks, reaching over 5 million Texans annually with food and resources. Due to COVID-19, more individuals in our communities have faced food insecurity. Feeding America projects 16.5% of Texas’ overall population will face food insecurity in 2021 due to the pandemic’s impact.

“Over the last year, many in our community have been affected by the hardships of COVID-19,” said Corinna Holt Richter, president and chief administrative officer at HOLT CAT. “We wanted to unite our team and provide the opportunity to make a positive impact, while also staying safe during the pandemic.”

In the last month, HOLT Companies hosted a virtual regional food drive to benefit Feeding Texas as part of ongoing efforts to serve and strengthen the community during the pandemic. The process for donating allowed the community to safely participate in the food drive by accepting donations online, eliminating the need to purchase items and drop them off at a physical location. Participating HOLT Companies included HOLT CAT, Texas First Rentals, HOLT Truck Centers, HOLT Manufacturing, HOLT Crane & Equipment, HOLT Renewables, Sullair of Houston and Sitech.

“At HOLT, we are passionate about and committed to our mission of making a positive impact in the communities where we work and live,” said Peter J. Holt, CEO and general manager at HOLT CAT. “We would like to thank the organizations and individuals who dedicate their time and energy to those who face food insecurity. Our team is grateful to be a part of these ongoing efforts. Together, we are providing more meals to our neighbors.”
