On April 4th, HOLT CAT held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new ProTech facility at the company’s San Antonio campus.
HOLT ProTech is the technical training arm of HOLT CAT and is a Caterpillar Regional Dealer Learning Center for natural gas engine and electric power generation training. HOLT ProTech provides certified training for Caterpillar dealers on Caterpillar Tier 4i diesel engines, as well as the new Caterpillar CT660 Vocational Truck.

HOLT ProTech also delivers technical training for Caterpillar Machines, Caterpillar Petroleum Transmissions, Agribusiness products, and Link-Belt cranes, provides Caterpillar operator training and has achieved Service Training Excellence accreditation from Caterpillar, Inc.
This new 10,651 square foot facility will be built to silver LEED standards designated by the U.S. Green Building Council. The building will enhance ProTech Trainings’ ability to deliver hands-on technical training and will include four teaching bays and a 2,100 square foot engine troubleshooting lab.
This year, in addition to training HOLT personnel, HOLT ProTech is expected to train more than 1,600 Caterpillar dealer technicians In past years, technicians from dealerships in North Carolina, California, Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, Colorado and Canada have participated in ProTech programs. In 2011, HOLT ProTech provided CAT certified training to approved customers and CAT dealer technicians from Canada, Brazil, India, Russia, Spain, Mexico, Panama, and Singapore to name a few countries.
“HOLT is investing in this new facility to demonstrate our commitment to providing enhanced service through employee training and development,” said Allyn L. Archer, president and chief operating officer.
HOLT CAT expects to complete and open its new ProTech facility this September.
