With a global customer focus and market leader in gas compression, drilling, and well servicing products and systems, Caterpillar® is the first choice for petroleum industry power solutions.
Petroleum
Cat engines are found worldwide where petroleum operations are underway. Despite constant changes in the petroleum market, people know they can rely on Cat for excellent performance and lower total cost. HOLT has the resources to properly size and package power for your application. With our qualified engineering staff, extensive fabrication facilities and reliable product support, we have what you need to get the most out of your power investment.

Exploration
More and more drilling contractors realize that rig re-powering is a cost-effective way to enhance drilling productivity. Some of the world’s largest drilling contractors have worked with HOLT to re-power their fleets with the new generation of fuel efficient, high performance Cat engines. Caterpillar offers the 3500 series engine to replace its predecessor, the 6.25" bore, 300 family engine. The 3500 series shares the same overall dimensions, enabling it to fit conveniently into existing rigs.
Well Servicing
Get in… apply plenty of horsepower… move on… do it all over again. That’s the nature of the stimulation and completion business. The 3100 through 3500 families of Cat engines deliver the needed horsepower, job after job. You can count on their reliability and the high hp/weight ratio makes them perfect for fishing, fracing, acidizing or cementing jobs. Rapid acceleration reduces trip time. Electronic engine controls manage throttle and timing, allowing for torque shaping to match pump performance. You benefit from exceptional operating efficiency that can increase your profitability.
Production & Distribution
Caterpillar has the natural gas engine to fit your application in gas gathering, processing, or storage and retrieval. Many leading gas compression companies have relied on HOLT Power Systems-we have become the experts in this field. After identifying the need for lower horsepower natural gas engines, HOLT worked with Cat to develop the G3304. In 1969, the first engine was tested in our Corpus Christi facility. Manufacturing of this engine was then turned over to Caterpillar.
Through the years, Caterpillar has been the innovator in natural gas engine technology, designing engines to burn field gas as well as other available gaseous fuels.
