SAN ANTONIO, Texas (October 5, 2012) –HOLT CAT (holtcat.com), the Caterpillar® equipment and engine dealer for South, Central, North and Northeast Texas, announces a new rental fleet addition – the G3306B small gas petroleum generator set. This first-in-class small gas generator is manufactured with an ISO 9001 compliant platform and powered on the industry standard G3300 platform – capable of surpassing the EPA’s new source performance standards and meeting Texas emissions standards state-wide. This power module is rated for operation at 135 ekW for use in energy exploration and production.

Equipped with the EMCP 4.3 control panel, the G3306B features a user-friendly and familiar interface. Combining the EMCP 4.3 with the G3300 platform provides integrated emissions controls for the core engine. Manual adjustments are required only four times a year with a single button, decreasing the engine’s maintenance time and cost. The engine’s durability allows for harsh oilfield conditions and runs on a broad range of fuel heating values at emission compliant levels.

From an operational perspective, the stationary unit offers fuel flexibility with a Caterpillar supplied air/fuel ratio control and a unique three-way catalyst design. A principal advantage of the G3306B fuel flexibility is the fuel cost and maintenance savings. Compared to the G9 diesel-run generators, the G3306B provides more than $200,000 in fuel and maintenance savings per year. Additionally, the G3300 small gas generator set accepts 70 percent rated of the first G1 load and 50 percent the second G2 load, meeting the ISO 8528 transient response.

Environmental considerations have also been incorporated into the design of the G3306B. This unit meets or surpasses U.S. EPA NSPS requirements for stationary engines. With an integrated catalyst, the G3306B achieves NOx emissions levels of 0.5g/bhp-hr NOx, making it suitable for use even in those Texas regions with strict NOx emissions standards.

The G3306B small gas generator set is backed 100 percent by service provided through Caterpillar’s authorized dealer network and technicians – trained to service every aspect of Caterpillar equipment.
