The recent severe weather and tornados in Moore, Oklahoma destroyed homes and businesses, but the problems did not end there. Power lines to the Draper Water Treatment Plant in Moore were down and it was determined that they would not be restored for days which resulted a shortage of fresh water to the community. HOLT CAT was able to step in and help with one of our 2 MW Caterpillar power module. HOLT Power Systems rental representative, Steve Watkins, received a call soon after the May 20th Moore disaster and it only took a few hours for the HOLT Power Systems team to get the trailer mounted generator on the road from Irving, Texas to Moore to provide vital power to treat the city’s water supply.
Then on May 31, additional tornadoes struck in the Oklahoma City area. This time Steve Watkins received a midnight call from Fabick Cat, the Missouri Caterpillar dealer, requesting several gen sets to support a major retail chain that had lost power. Fabick supports this retailer across the country and works through the Cat dealer network to meet their needs. By the next afternoon, HOLT Power Systems had a 500kW, a 1,000kW and two 800 kW gen sets on the road to Oklahoma City.
