Bridgeport High School juniors Tate McClellan and Paul Naquin signed internship agreements with HOLT CAT Tuesday morning in the BHS library. The two students will begin working 15-20 supervised hours at HOLT CAT in January, and will continue throughout the summer and into their senior years. The internship program also provides tuition reimbursement for students who decide to attend a trade or tech school for additional post-high school certifications. BRENDAN MARCHAND | WCMESSENGER

As several Wise County athletes put pen to paper Tuesday morning to signal their next collegiate destination, two juniors at Brigdeport High School participated in a similar ceremony. But these two students, Tate McClellan and Paul Naquin, were signing to play with equipment heavier than a ball or bat.

The two students signed spring 2024 internship agreements with HOLT CAT to learn real-world automotive equipment skills that will build on the strong foundation they have already established at BHS.

McClellan and Naquin will intern with HOLT CAT throughout the spring semester and summer, and also have the opportunity to continue doing so throughout their senior years of high school. Both are enrolled in the BHS automotive pathway, and said they are excited to transfer their interests from inside and outside of the classroom into the chance to jumpstart their careers.
