HOLT CAT employees in Irving and Fort Worth recently participated in another successful 2013 Bunny and Bear Drive for Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. Together the two stores collected an amazing 346 animals, and with the additional help of Haley Whatley’s Bunny Ambassadors, this year’s incredible drive rounded up a total of 3,767 donations.
The event provided an outstanding opportunity for store employees in Irving and Fort Worth to partner their efforts and round up an amazing number of cuddly toys for the community.
“It was an excellent chance for our employees to show that HOLT CAT was involved in the community,” said Rental Business Manager Thomas Barry. “In addition, everybody was inspired to do even more next year.”
Haley Whatley began the Bunny and Bear collection drive at the age of five when she decided to help comfort sick children during their hospital stay. She began recruiting “Bunny Ambassadors” to help her achieve her goals. Thirteen years later, her legacy continues.
“In Fort Worth, we don’t have as many opportunities to help the community, and this allowed us to do something enjoyable that would mean something to children,” said Kerry White, Customer Service Coordinator, Heavy Equipment Shop.
Haley and her ambassadors joined HOLT CAT Irving and Fort Worth employees at the annual ceremony, where the stuffed animals were delivered to Cook Children's Hospital Fort Worth via a Skid Steer Loader provided by HOLT CAT. This was an awesome photo opportunity for everyone in attendance.
“The loader added a nice touch when we brought the animals to the hospital,” said Jessica Whitehead, Senior Parts Back Order Expediter. Visitors were eager to take pictures with the toys on the loader.
A special thanks goes out to the following employees who served as Bunny Ambassadors for their stores and/or volunteered their services for this worthy cause.
