Cassy Marsalis is paving the way for more women to step into leadership roles and redefine what’s possible in the construction industry.

For Cassy Marsalis, entering the construction industry wasn’t necessarily the plan—but joining HOLT CAT was. After spending years in the service industry, she sought more than just a paycheck—she wanted a career. That decision, she says, was one of the best she has ever made. Now, after seven years, she has grown into a leadership role as the PSD Maintenance Solutions Supervisor, proving that drive, adaptability, and a strong support system can open doors to endless opportunities.

What Cassy values most about her role at HOLT CAT is the people. “Past and present team members have helped me learn, grow, and achieve goals that I didn’t realize I had until I joined the company,” she shares. It’s the collaboration, mentorship, and shared knowledge within the company that has helped shape her career and fuel her ambition.

Mentorship has played a crucial role in Cassy’s journey, with Joe Reynolds being an early teacher and support system during a challenging learning period. “He had years of knowledge and passed so much on to me without hesitation,” she recalls. Later, Justin Voelkel helped guide her to her first supervisor position, providing her with the guidance, skills, and confidence needed to step into leadership.

One of the biggest misconceptions Cassy wants to break is the idea that women can’t excel in leadership positions without technical experience. “With the proper training, guidance, and drive, I was able to overcome that misconception and excel in two separate supervisor roles,” she explains. By building relationships with her team and customers, she has proven that leadership is about more than just technical skills—it’s about problem-solving, communication, and a commitment to growth.

To succeed in the construction industry, Cassy emphasizes the importance of belief in yourself to overcome hurdles, as well as having the drive, adaptability, and willingness to learn and grow. She credits the strong values instilled by HOLT CAT as a foundation for success.

Cassy has personally witnessed and supported another woman’s success—Castin Scheible, who joined HOLT and has since risen to the role of PSD Field Service Supervisor. “I knew immediately that she held all the skills and qualities to be part of the exceptional women who have done great things with HOLT,” Cassy says proudly. “I am very excited to watch her grow.”

Her message to the next generation of women in construction is clear: “With determination, guidance, and a willingness to learn, anything is possible. Believe in yourself, take the leap, and break every barrier in your way.” Through her leadership, mentorship, and dedication, Cassy Marsalis is paving the way for more women to step into leadership roles and redefine what’s possible in the construction industry.
