San Antonio, Texas (Monday, August 12, 2013) –The entire town of Brady, TX, about 150 miles northwest of San Antonio, had no power for more than 24 hours, losing their electricity source early Saturday morning. At about 8:00 a.m., the entire town--population 5 ,500--lost power.

The power provider and distribution lines from the North and South were taken down after storms blew through the town, according to local Brady authorities. Some facilities such as the city hall, fire department, and police station had a back-up generator to supply needs. Wal-Mart also had a one megawatt generator from HOLT CAT Power Systems Rental group delivered from San Antonio, which allowed Wal-Mart to help supply food and water to Brady residents until power was restored on Sunday. Main complaints from the residents were the extreme heat from the lack of air conditioning due to recent high temperatures across most of Texas.

HOLT CAT provides emergency power assistance through a National response agreement with Wal-Mart where select Caterpillar dealers across the U.S. participate. HOLT CAT supports this agreement and others like this with one of the largest generator fleets in Texas and in the U.S.
