Randy Schwab, Haul Truck Driver 4 for HOLT CAT

Randy Schwab’s career behind the wheel began in 1998 while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Since then, he estimates he has driven roughly 1 million miles. For the past five years, he has brought that experience to HOLT CAT as a Haul Truck Driver 4.

“What I enjoy most about my job is working with a great team that supports one another,” Randy said.

That teamwork is especially important when hauling heavy equipment. Randy says one thing many drivers on the road may not realize is just how much additional space and time a loaded haul truck requires.

“Heavy equipment is just that, heavy,” Randy said. “Some of it is very heavy, and it takes us longer to maneuver in traffic and slow down.”

For Randy, preparation is an important part of every trip. Water is one item he always keeps in his truck to make sure he stays hydrated throughout the day. He also carries an assortment of tools and spare parts so he can handle certain repairs himself if a problem arises on the road.

That preparation reflects the same approach Randy takes to HOLT’s Values Based Leadership principles.

“HOLT’s values mean staying committed to my job with integrity, honesty and excellence,” he said.

Whether he is preparing his truck, navigating traffic with a heavy load or working alongside fellow employees, Randy understands the responsibility that comes with representing HOLT CAT on the road.

Outside of work, Randy lives in Marion, Texas, with his wife of six years and their two sons, ages 17 and 15. When he has the opportunity, he enjoys fishing and spending time helping on the family farm.

During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, HOLT CAT recognizes Randy and the drivers whose experience, preparation and commitment help safely move equipment and serve our customers every day.
