A big congratulations to Texas First Rentals Fort Worth for being the first store to achieve a 5-star rating in Caterpillar’s Contamination Control Program. Created in 2000, Caterpillar’s Contamination Control Compliance Program implemented a rigorous set of requirements and guidelines, complete with a Caterpillar audit, in order to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness are met in Cat dealerships. While the individual elements of contamination control are widely known best practices, Caterpillar has developed a defined set of procedures that must be followed and a formal auditing process to verify that a site is meeting the standards. Cat dealers earn ratings based on their performance, with the highest a five-star rating, which indicates 95 percent or better compliance with the standards.
A cleaner shop means higher reliability for the equipment, preventing equipment failure due to contamination, and saving Texas First Rentals and its customers time and money.
Michael Meyer, Contamination Control Champion, said that meeting the requirements is challenging, however, the team at Texas First Rentals Fort Worth worked hard to move from zero stars to 5 and get the job done. While some employees didn’t even think it could be done, more experienced technicians worked within the store to create processes and procedures that improved the shop and set and excellent example for the rest of the company. This promises to be the first of many for Texas First Rentals.
