HOLT CAT Power Systems Division (PSD) is continuing its expansion program to provide legendary customer service with groundbreaking ceremonies for new generator set packaging and engine rebuild facilities in Longview and San Antonio.
Continued high prices for oil and natural gas have sparked tremendous growth with increased demand for power generators and the oilfield equipment, including the Caterpillar diesel and natural gas engines provided by the Power Systems Division.
“In order to keep up with these new requirements from customers in East Texas and Central Texas, we are building new facilities and hiring additional technicians in Longview and San Antonio,” said Bob Stratton, Vice President and General Manager of the Power Systems Division. “For customers in far South Texas, we opened a new facility in Corpus Christi in August 2007.”
On April 3, ground was broken for a new 28,000 sq. ft. facility in San Antonio, representing a $5 million investment by HOLT CAT. It doubles the capacity of the San Antonio PSD operations for diesel and natural gas engine rebuilds and overhauls and is expected to generate about 50 incremental jobs. These engines are extensively used on drilling rigs and for natural gas compression as well as generators for standby power and emergency power.
